What We Do

Food Brings Hope was founded in 2007 with the vision that children should be free from hunger.  Through the extraordinary support of a generous community, Food Brings Hope, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization,  now touches the lives of more than 1,000 school aged children.  We help children in need through several key initiatives:

School Programs

Our after-school programs serve more than 1,000 students in twenty-two Volusia County schools and one Flagler County School, providing nourishing meals, enhanced academics, rewards for improvement and opportunities to participate in sporting and cultural events.  School teachers and principals testify that these activities contribute to improved test scores, reduced disciplinary referrals and absenteeism, and an increase in the number of students completing each grade level.

As part of our efforts to help students reach their fullest potential, we also launched our FBHonors program for the highest achieving students and a supplemental Weekend Feed-A-Family program to help combat food insecurity.

The HOPE Project

Our latest initiative, The HOPE Project, has been established to provide unaccompanied youth with a safe and stable living environment. The HOPE House is established for students attending Volusia County High Schools.  In addition to providing shelter, we also offer services to help them prosper including mentoring, transportation, nutritional training, higher education counseling, medical services, etc.

At Food Brings Hope, 100% of all donations go toward these important initiatives.
