Afterschool Tutoring

Our after-school programs, which we call Kids Zone in the elementary schools and Teen Zone in the middle and high schools, are being administered in 16 Volusia County Schools.  Kids/Teen Zone is designed to provide a platform and opportunities for at-risk students to improve their performance at school.  <<Read More>>


For the highest achieving FBH students, we established the Farshad Babazadeh Honors Program (FBHonors) program.  The goal of the FBHonors initiative is to cultivate the talent of these bright students, in small class settings, through rigorous, varied enhanced opportunities designed to navigate these talented students through high-school and help them enroll in college to lead them on a path to success. <<Read More>>

Special Events

Through support from community organizations, Food Brings Hope offers enrichment opportunities to the students we serve.  Field trips to cultural destinations, educational seminars, outings to sporting events, and other organized events are designed to provide meaningful memories and experiences to students who might not otherwise get to enjoy them.  <<Read More>>

Weekend Feed-A-Family Program

While the children served by Food Brings Hope receive free/reduced breakfast and lunch at school, we recogniz that many of them go hungry evenings, weekends and holidays when school isn't in session.  To combat food insecurity stress in FBH students, FBH joined forces with Halifax Urban Ministries to provide bags of groceries to 200 of our neediest families each week.    <<Read More>>
